The Calendar of Support for Families of Children with Special Needs is
the product of a unique collaboration between local organizations serving children
with special needs and thehealthline.ca. The calendar was conceived in the spring
of 2007 in response to a community-identified need.
The goal of the initiative is to provide the South West region on an ongoing basis
with a user friendly online resource in the form of a calendar which lists relevant
programs and events, such as parent training workshops, group opportunities, as
well as resources and activities for siblings and children with special needs (see
the Inclusion Policy for further information).
The calendar also serves as a planning and scheduling tool for organizations hosting
events.
Thehealthline.ca web portal hosts the online calendar and provides day-to-day management
in consultation with interested service providers. If your agency would like to
know more about the calendar and how to participate, contact thehealthline.ca at
editor@thehealthline.ca.
